I interviewed about Canadian culture for homestay family. I get many information and understand deeply about it. Also it was good opportunity to compare with Japanese culture. I’ll share you some interesting points.
1 Where are you from?
　　→ Born in Germany and grew up in Pennticton in Canada.
2 How many languages are spoken in your country?
　　→ Germany: German, English Canada: English,French and many others
　　Canada is multi cultural country therefore many language is spoken.
3 What is the work ethic like in your country?
　　→ People prefer a good work-life balance.
　　Actually my host father definitely come back to home till 6:00 moreover he doesn’t work over time at home. In Japan, there still have atmosphere about to forced to work hard and work over time. I think it’s bad for workers, so I like work style in Canada.
4 What kind of architecture is common in your country?
　　→Canada don’t have historical architecture. The houses are characterized by being made of wood and many have basements.
5 What kind of clothing is typical in your country?
　　→ Casual style. For example jeans T-shirts and sweater. People wear business casual even if it’s business occasions.
　　In Japan, many people are fashionable. They also wear clothes that do not show much skin. In business, they wear a tie every day.
